Tuesday
We start camp with a bike handling skills session. Even the best pros spend time working on their skills and there is
plenty to learn from the coaches leading and demonstrating the drills.
After lunch at a local restaurant, The afternoon is free time with the option for a sports massage
and we’ll meet again for a group dinner at a local restaurant.
Wednesday
Today’s endurance ride focuses on group riding skills. This is a technically challenging route with
a deceptive amount of climbing, but we know how to customise the day for any ability level.
Experienced riders will complete the 80-120km ride, while several shorter options exist for the athletes
who need to save their legs for the rest of the week. There is lots of riding to come!
Lunch and there is the option for a sports massage. Dinner will be on your own.
Thursday
The endurance ride today focuses on long miles with lots of hills.
We’ll split into several groups to ride 3.5 to 5.5 hour loops through the mountains of Kalamata.
Lots of climbing and descending await as we spin through the vineyards, olive plantations and valleys.
On several of the sustained climbs we prescribe a threshold level climbing pace to maintain to achieve the desired training effect.
After lunch and reviewing the morning’s ride data you’ll again have the option for massage, followed by dinner on your own.
Friday
Today will be an easier day with the goal of resting the legs ahead of the Tayetos Mtn climb.
Enjoy an easy cruise through the valley on some of our favorite local roads. We’ll meet for lunch at a local restaurant.
You’ll talk to your coach about your ride data, have the option for a massage and join us for a group dinner at a local restaurant.
Saturday
We save the hardest ride for last at Spring Training Camp – Tayetos Mountain!
The technique fundamentals, pacing strategies and nutritional tips you’ve learned the previous days will all help
you conquer this extremely challenging climb. It’s a mountain that has tested many high level cyclists, but our coaches
and support staff will help you conquer it too.The only people who don’t make it up Tayetos are the ones that don’t really want to.
And while this mountain will challenge your legs and resolve, you will also enjoy spectacular scenery and an exhilarating descent.
This ride caps off a great week of big spring Kilometers and our last dinner is a chance to celebrate the camp with new and old cycling friends.
